The children's author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

Prolific young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

An official for the firm commented: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding reports of conduct deemed unsuitable involving women.

The firm did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold in excess of 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

He has published over four dozen titles altogether, including a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
